Nick is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and acquired his Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Nevada, Reno. He earned a dual bachelors degree from UNR in Psychology and Gender Studies, where he graduated with Honors Distinction and Cum Laude Distinction. Nick is intensively trained in Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), which helps one balance extreme positions that might cause additional suffering in one’s life. He has worked at the West Hills Hospital as the Outpatient Coordinator and Therapist for the Mental Health Intensive Outpatient Program. Nick also specializes in Depression, Anxiety, Stress Management and Anger Management and previously worked at the Willow Springs Residential Treatment Center for Adolescents and Children for 5 years as a Therapist and Lead DBT Mental Health Technician. Nick is deeply dedicated to his clientele. His approach blends compassion and humility with determination and encouragement to helps clients reach a fuller, more authentic life. He is devoted to helping clients balance self- and environmental- acceptance with making active, healthy change. Nick is always working to meet the clients where they are and help them empower themselves. Nick finds humor can be a powerful tool in the journey toward recovery and trust. In addition to his professional background, Nick has also taught classes at Truckee Meadows Community College, including: Issue in Substance Abuse, Introductions to Therapeutic Interventions, and Understanding Mental Illness. For 3 years he was also a certified trainer in Nonviolent Crisis and Prevention and Intervention Strategies.
